Kings on the Bay is a Salmon, Lake Trout and Rainbow Trout Tournament held yearly in Southern Georgian Bay.
Tournament Date:
Tournament starts Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 5:30 am Eastern Daylight Time “EDT” and continues until Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 2:30 pm EDT.
Prizes:
The Kings on the Bay Tournament prizing will consist of cash prizes (50%, 25%, 10%) for the following:

- Top 3 teams of the Heaviest box of 3 salmon, minimum length of Salmon is 20”

Top 3 teams of the:
2. Heaviest box of 3 Lake Trout, no minimum length. Prizes will be based on Sponsorship donations.
3. Heaviest fish overall (Salmon, Lake Trout or Rainbow Trout) category will be 100% payout.
The Cash prize amounts remain subject to the collective payment from active participants minus the King of the Bay Tournament applicable fees, such as event insurance, venue fees, administrative fees and a donation to a local conservation group (Georgian Triangle Anglers Association – GTAA)
Weigh-In:
Weigh-in will take place on the beach at Little Sand Bay on Christian Island. Google Maps Location
All participants must be at the weigh-in station located at Little Sand Bay on Christian Island no later than 3:00 pm EST.
Any boats not at the weigh in by 3:00pm EST. will be disqualified from the Kings on the Bay tournament.
Wind/rain/weather, Bay conditions delay date:
Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 5:30am Eastern Daylight Time “EDT” and continues until Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 2:30pm EDT.
Departure Locations:
Participants can choose to depart from any of the following 3 locations no earlier than 5:30am:
- Collingwood Harbor Town Launch (Heritage Drive)
- Penetanguishene Town Dock
- Tiny Cove Marina (reserved for marina customers only)
Check-In Inspection:
Teams will undergo a boat and cooler inspection by a Kings on the Bay representative prior to the start time. Teams will be given a ticket upon completing the inspection. Each team must present the ticket at the weigh-in.
Vhf Channel:
Vhf channel Seventy One (71) will be used in the area and will be monitored by organizers during the Kings on the Bay Tournament hours. Participants shall remain respectful to other participants at all times.
Tournament Cost:
Cost of participation for the Kings on the Bay Tournament is $210 per team with a maximum of 3 rods, and must be registered with receipt of payment no later than Friday, July 10, 12 noon EDT.
An additional category for Lake Trout and BIG fish (Salmon, Lake Trout or Rainbow Trout).
All categories will be covered in the $210 entry fee.

Payment is completed via E-Transfer to kingofthebay21@gmail.com, include the Captain’s first and last name, as well as the team name in the message.
In addition, entrants must read and sign an online waiver available at http://kingsonthebay.ca Participants will not be able to compete until rules and regulations are signed and submitted and entrance fee is paid.
